Die-cut adhesive film
Adhesive film punching enables the production of custom-shaped adhesive solutions for protection, construction, or technical function – exactly tailored to components and applications. Krückemeyer manufactures to order, including combined liner technology.

| Technology | Register- and position-accurate punching with camera technology |
| Working width | up to 600 mm |
| Tolerances | ±0.2 mm |
Servo rotary die-cutting enables pinpoint- and register-accurate punching of adhesive films using a camera system. For self-adhesive films with, for example, embedded electronic components, punching is performed only at fixed, predefined positions to keep the functional areas fully intact.
| Technique | Material removal layer by layer |
| Feature I | Different shapes of various layers |
| Feature II | Internal cutouts, individually customizable |
| Feature III | Punching without damaging the backing |
During kiss-cutting of adhesive films, the carrier material is punched without cutting the backing. Multilayer films or laminate constructions can be processed in a targeted manner—each layer separately, with precisely defined punching depth.
| Technical Films | Electronics | Thermo | etc. |
| Protective Films | Surface protection | Product protection |
| Metal Foils | Aluminium | Copper | Deposition coatings |
| Plastic Films | PE | PP | PTFE | PI | PVC | etc. |
| Self-Adhesive Materials | Self-adhesive coated films |
| Non-Adhesive | Films without adhesive coating |
Single- and double-sided adhesive films can be processed when they are required as a die-cut part – for example, exactly matching your component. In general, punching/die-cutting is possible for all film materials, provided the material can be cleanly cut and wound.
| Adhesive dots | Custom diameters |
| Adhesive tapes | Custom dimensions |
| Custom adhesive die-cut parts | All 2D shapes |
| Adhesive pads & sheets | Custom dimensions |
| Carrier media | Roll stock & sheet goods | individual parts |
We typically punch your parts on a silicone-based carrier material. This allows us to supply them, depending on your needs, as roll stock, on sheets, or as individual parts – optimal for your workflow.

During die-cutting of adhesive films, self-adhesive-coated films are precisely shaped into defined contours – exactly matched to the component geometry, surface, and assembly process.
The process is ideal when:
- precise adhesive solutions for high-volume production processes are required
- visible areas, openings, or functional windows must be integrated
- manual trimming should be avoided
- a fast, reliable application in the production process is required
Die-cut adhesive films ensure reproducible quality and reduced assembly times.
Almost all commercially available self-adhesive films can be processed, including:
- PET-, PP-, PE-, or PVC adhesive films
- protective and surface films
- transfer adhesive films
- functional and insulating films
- multilayer laminates
- films with customized, modified adhesive layers
- one- and two-sided adhesive films
Additionally, laminations, coatings, or one- or two-sided adhesive adjustments are possible.
The achievable precision depends on the material build-up and film thickness.
Thanks to modern punching technology and optical quality control, tight tolerances and high repeatability are possible – even for delicate contours or internal cutouts.
Depending on the application, different finishing options are available:
- Loose individual pieces
- On rolls (for automatic application)
- On sheets
- With finger lift or peel-off aid
- With positioning or fixing aids
- With modified liner (paper or film backing)
- As a multi-layer, ready-to-install composite solution
The configuration is precisely aligned with the later application process - manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic.
Cost-effectiveness is determined by:
- Film type and material thickness
- Type and thickness of the adhesive
- Contour complexity
- Tooling effort
- Quantity
- Additional processes such as lamination or liner changes
- Packaging requirements
Modular production steps enable both prototypes and series production to be cost-effective.
For an accurate calculation, the following information is helpful:
- Technical drawing or die-cut contour
- Material specification or functional requirements
- Film thickness and adhesive type
- Preferred delivery form
- Annual or project quantity
- Information on the application process
The more detailed the information, the more precisely we can develop the optimal solution.
Samples and pilot runs can be produced on short notice.<\/p>
Through flexible stamping and converting processes, fast development cycles are possible – ideal for validations, tests, or ramp-ups in production.<\/p>
