In classic rotary die-cutting, the film material is punched in the continuous process using a punch cylinder and tooling. This is ideal for producing large quantities quickly, economically, and with consistent precision.

Tolerances±0.2 mm

Servo Rotary Punching enables point- and registration-accurate punching of films using camera technology. For films containing, for example, electronic components, punching is performed only at precisely defined locations so that the functional areas remain intact.

We typically manufacture your die-cut parts on a silicone-based carrier material. This allows you to receive the parts either as roll stock, sheet stock, or individually – tailored to your process.

Häufige Fragen zum Folien stanzen

During foil punching, technical foils are formed to defined geometries with contour accuracy – precisely matched to the component, function, and assembly process.

The process is particularly suitable when:

  • Precise fits are required
  • Delicate inner contours or cutouts are required
  • Sealing, insulation, or protective functions are to be integrated
  • Automated application processes must be supported

Die-cut foils ensure reproducible quality and efficient downstream processing.

Nearly all commercially available technical films can be processed, including:

  • PET films (e.g., polyester films)
  • PVC, PP, or PE films
  • Functional and protective films
  • Insulation and spacer films
  • Self-adhesive films
  • Multilayer laminates

Additionally, material combinations are possible through laminating or by applying transfer adhesive layers.

Manufacturing is performed with tight tolerances and high repeatability.

Process capability and reproducible quality are documented through optical measurement technology (e.g., line-scan camera). Complex contours or even the smallest openings are feasible – depending on material type and thickness.

Depending on customer requirements, various delivery formats are possible:

  • Loose individual parts
  • On a roll (continuous or individually punched)
  • On sheets
  • Cross-wound reels
  • With release aid (finger lift)
  • With positioning aids
  • With modified protective cover (paper or film liner)
  • Multilayer composite solutions

The configuration is precisely tailored to the application process – manual, semi- or fully automatic.

The cost-effectiveness depends, among other things, on:

  • Material type and film thickness
  • Complexity of the die-cut contour
  • Tooling costs
  • Order quantity and call-off quantity
  • Additional processes such as laminating or coating
  • Desired packaging and delivery form

Through modular manufacturing processes, both prototypes and series production can be economically realized.

The following details are helpful for an accurate calculation:

  • Technical drawing (including tolerances)
  • Material specification or functional requirements
  • Dimensions and film thickness
  • Self-adhesive or non-self-adhesive
  • Preferred delivery form
  • Project or annual quantity

The more detailed the information, the more tailored the solution can be.

Samples and pre-production runs can be produced on short notice, provided the desired materials are in stock or can be sourced quickly.

Thanks to flexible process chains and in-house converting, rapid development cycles are possible – ideal for testing, validation, or production ramp-ups.
