Vinyl cutting service
Having film plotting performed enables individual contour cuts of technical films with no tooling costs. Krückemeyer manufactures plotted film solutions precisely to CAD data or the specified dimensions.

Häufige Fragen zum Schneidplotten von Folien
In vinyl cutting of films, film materials are cut precisely along contours using a plotter — without a traditional punching tool.
This method is especially suitable when:
- Prototypes or small runs are to be produced
- Contours that change frequently are required
- No tooling costs are required
- Custom shapes must be implemented quickly
- Development projects should be flexibly supported
Vinyl cutting offers maximum flexibility with high precision.
In general, many technical and self-adhesive films are suitable, including:
- PET, PP, PE or PVC films
- self-adhesive functional films
- protective and surface protection films
- thin double-sided adhesive films
- selected laminate or composite films
Feasibility depends on material thickness, construction, and cutting requirements.
Pricing is influenced by:
- Material type and thickness
- Contour complexity
- Number of cuts per part
- Quantity
- Data preparation (e.g., vector data)
- desired delivery form
Because no tooling is required, traditional die-cutting tooling costs are not incurred — for larger runs, however, another process may be more economical.
A fixed minimum order quantity does not exist in general.
Plot-cutting is particularly economical for individual pieces, samples, or small production runs. For larger runs, we assess which process is technically and economically optimal.
For a quick calculation, the following information is helpful:
- Vector file (e.g., DXF, AI, or PDF)
- Material specification or desired properties
- Material thickness
- Quantity
- Desired delivery form (loose, on sheets, etc.)
- Information for further processing
The cleaner the data, the faster the implementation can proceed.
Yes, samples and prototypes can be produced quickly.
In development environments, plot-cutting enables rapid validation of geometry, fit, and process integration – ideal prior to series production.
