With film cutting, wide film master rolls are precisely converted to individual desired widths. The aim is to tailor the material exactly to the component, the production process, and downstream processing.

The process is especially worthwhile when:

special widths are required for manufacturing processes
automatic feed systems are used
material should be used economically
manual trimming cuts are avoided
process safety and repeatability are required

Individually cut film rolls optimize handling, efficiency, and assembly processes.

As a rule, a wide range of technical films in roll stock can be processed, e.g.:

PET-, PP-, PE- or PVC films
protective and surface films
self-adhesive films
functional, insulating, and spacer films
multilayer laminates or composite materials

Rewinding onto standard core diameters as well as custom roll lengths are possible.

The costs are mainly determined by:

Film type and thickness
Target width and number of cuts per roll
Roll length and desired core diameter
Quantity / lot size or annual demand
Additional processing such as rewinding, special packaging, or special versions

The better the material utilization and the more predictable the demand, the more economical it usually is.

There is no fixed minimum order quantity that applies in every case. It depends on material, format and feasibility. Production is often based on master rolls – smaller orders can also be implemented depending on the material and the effort involved.
